Which format is better for photography Film or Digital?

I still often hear photographers say how much nicer film is then digital. Then I'll look at their work which usually is processed with heavy photoshop effects and and up asking them, is this film or digital? To me it seems in the end once it's all color corrected it looks the same, the only difference is film costs you a lot more. This is of course taking into consideration that these photographers are using digital camera's in the 3k range with very nice lenses. In today's market though the price of megapixels has gone way down. It seems to be more about the lens anymore these days.
However when it comes to film camera's you can still see the difference between film and digital. Digital won't hold up as well in low light situations as a film camera would with fast film. However, in the hollywood world that doesn't really matter since everything is lit perfectly anyway.
vote I like working with digital more. I prefer film it looks so much better. vote
